I will preach to them about the Alaska Panhandle issue (long since dead) and tell them that USA is an evil land grabbing country.

When they disagree, or state they don't care, I will say it again, just angrier. If they still don't listen, I will chop my fingers off and/or set myself on fire.

That'll teach them.

i would try and help them. the treatment westerners get from koreans is much better than koreans get in the west. so waht if you get bumped into, having to put up with lots of slag on the street etc. (although all these things annoy me in korea) koreans behave exactly that way to each other. actually i reckon westerners are treated much better by koreans than how they treat other koreans. as westerners we get special treatment in the workplace, by ladies (and guys too??) and in my experience sometimes extra special service in bars/ restaurants. do these things happen when koreans come to the west? not likely.

I'm going to have trouble not keeping my mouth shut, I know that. I'm also going to offer to introduce the first Korean man I meet to some Canadian women, saying that in Canada we're not racist and don't treat women like property. I have a 6' 0" former model friend who'd be perfect for deflating a little K-guy's ego with her rejection.

Is it:
1. Do unto others as they have done unto you?
or
2. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you?

This is probably one of the truest things to ever be posted on Dave's forums.

Mr. Pink,
Perhaps, matko copied and pasted that from another forum? Wink

That's because those people come to Canada to live, and they are given passports after 3 or 4 years, whatever it is these days.

I don't hear much about Korea giving citizenship to anyone. And especially if you don't already speak Korean almost perfectly. So we let in people that don't speak English, too.

I have no apologies to offer.

I had about six Koreans translating a recipe on the back of a bag of noodles for me at Home Plus. That would never happen at Safeway in Vancouver. No one would care if the "chink" couldn't read the instructions. After all, If you're going to come to Canada you should learn English first.

Yes, there are rude people here. But don't let it blind you to the kindness. After the last Typhoon, my boss dropped by with fruits and flowers because she was worried about me and my wife. The computer I am using right now was given to me by a Korean who thought I might not like the smoke at the PC bang.

Don't get me wrong. Sometimes I get a kick out of sitting in front of a short Korean at the movies, or flexing the muscles in my arm when some little puke bumps past me. But for every aspect of this culture that rubs me the wrong way, there is another that I admire.

I have nothing but contempt for the Korean government and I don't have a high opinion of Korean society either, that being said .Overall Koreans make good Americans, besides most Koreans that go to the US tend to be pro USA.

It would be stupid and counterproductive to blame them for whatever is wrong with the Korean government , the Korean media or Korean society.

as a korean-american, i fail to see how the way you were treated by some koreans over there applies to gyopos like myself who you will most likely meet upon returning home. i am sure you are all just venting your frustrations however and i can understand that, korea can be a very frustrating, anger inducing place at times

but i must say if i ever ran into any of you in NYC and you yelled 'waygook saram!!!' and pointed at me,
i'd probably pee my pants laughing, i actually really hope someone does this to me one day, it'd be fun

anyone coming to NYC in the near future? Laughing
