Hello... a friend gave me a cell phone before he left back home. He got it somehow, its a bit shady so Im not sure.. but anyways, the phone is password protected so I cant figure out the number or anything. I like the phone and would like to activate it. I hear that I can just wipe out that password protection and get a new number by getting a new chip? Well, I read that this is illegal but what do people do when they are locked out of their own phones?

So, where is a place to get the chip replaced (if thats what I need to do) and about how much does it cost?

Im so cell phone illiterate, its kinda fun learing all about them Smile This will be my first one ever!

I could find the owner, so if you have any suggestions on that lemme know.

Thanx!
