|
|
When I had an ordinary E2 and wanted to do extra work I filled out a form, got the neessary docs in order, and got my permission from immigration etc.
Then, the docs were something like:
1 New place's Business Certificate - .
2 Letter of invitation with my name, including salary, hours, times of
teaching. The more information the better.
2 Permission from my present job + current work info =
3 Application form from immigration.
4 Some money.
So, I am now in a position to add something to my F2-1. Will I need all the same docs again? Less? More? Anyone out there done it already? |

If you're taking a second position then you need the same documentation for the E2 "extension" that you took there for the original. The F2 makes no difference to the work authorization(s) requirements here, they just process it more quickly as you'll know. Make sure the contract has a fixed date of commencement and completion.
The good news is it should be free... may change from office to office though.

But are you still stuck in a bad job for a year if you want out?
What are the ramifications if you quit a contract with a school when you have an F-2? |

No, you're not stuck. That's the big advantage of the F2. No LOR is required from an employer should you seek to change employers. It's also a rubber-stamp procedure to gain E2 cover.
And I'm sorry, I made a mistake, the E2 will cost you. It's the F2 renewals that are free.

Do you actually need your ARC to be stamped or noted by immigration? Wondering because I am currently teaching full-time at a Hakwon and teaching Full-time at a public elem school. My hakwon director said that they just needed to supply immigration with permission for me to work at another location and immigration OK'd it. According to my director I don't need to do anything. Just wondering if she has her facts straight. I do hold and F2-1 and E-2 (with my Hakwon). |

I doubt that it's free. But, if it's done through your current employer he/she should definitely be picking up the tab.

I worked for a shady character before and he had teachers going to 2 or 3 different public schools. They had to get an additional stamp for each location. Fortunately, I only had to get 1 extra stamp. Each time it got changed the bosses hung onto the passport longer than they had to. Pretty much all the teachers hated the sobs. I digress.

Well, I thought F2 meant I can cancel my visa easily...not really. My hagwon went under, boss fled and is in hiding with all our money, and immigration STILL said that I need his signature and him to go to immigration to fill out a form to cancel my E2!!! They said that I couldn't do it on my own, even after I told them that my dirty, backwards, fucking bitch boss is hiding in Jeju or China for all I know. So, I still have a worthless E2 on my F2. They said I can "add" another job if I like but I probably can't get another E2....hmmm, privates are looking better and better.
But this is country-city Cheongju immigraton...they don't know anything. |

Yes Pegpig, the employer should pick up the tab 100%. I corrected the other bit.
I fail to see the misunderstanding over an F2...when I first got mine I asked what it gave me.
Right to residence based on F2 sponsor, no work rights- simple as that.
PCT girl- I had a Wongjang do the same last year. I got another job and the E2 they supplied overrode and replaced the old one. Strange office. |
