Where can I buy either from as I am soon to get an oven and obviously want to start baking in it. I would be after a set of cake ins and ideally some loaf tins too. Do Koreans use baking powder or can I buy self raising flour? I hear yeast is easy to find here anyone know the korean name for it (I'll look it up otherwise just being lazy). Any help would be appreciated (I'll bake you some cookies................)

I've seen baking pans at E-mart and at Hannam Supermarket. Dunno about self raising flour, but baking powder is definitely available. Can't remember where I bought mine, but quite likely at e-mart.

I bought some tins at Iteawon black market, as too some corn bread. Not sure about the powder. Let us know how the stove works out. The fish oven on my stove didn't work out. I think I'll bring my cornbread to the Nashville and let them make it.

I have found yeast inmost places I go. But it is not near the flour. Don't ask me why.
It comes in a foil bag, and it says "Yeast". I have found it near the garlic powder and the ginger in bags.
Never saw baking powder, but it has to be found some place.
I'm going home this weekend for 2 weeks and as usual I bring back bags of cornmeal and baking powder.
I am near seoul, and if u want to I can brng baking powder back for u. That will not take up any space in my luggage.

You can find baking powder and baking soda in any supermarket. They are in small bags about 4 inches square clear plastic. The baking powder has blue lettering on it and the baking soda has red lettering on it.

Yeast you can get in foil pouches pretty much anywhere.

For your baking needs I would suggest E-mart as the selection, price and quality are all pretty good there.

I usually buy cornmeal at Hannam supermarket, it's one of the things that's fairly cheap there actually.

Our new Carreforre has an actually baking section with the pans and piping bags...and all things needed to bake....including cocoa powder and icing sugar....

Our new one is in Incheon but I am sure others might have this baking aisle too...

THE best place in Seoul according to my wife (who is a total baking master - I'm the menu megastar is an anagram of her name so she should be Laughing

) is Jungwoo Industrial Co located near the Coex subway stop (Samseong) line 2. You get to it via exit 3.

I've heard the absoulte best place to go for baking goods, ingrediants and epuipment is Bakers Alley at Dongdaemun Markets, havn't been there myself yet but I know alot of expat wives that go and they all say you can get everything you need for baking.
