i just bought an xbox last week from yongsan. there is a really good store called game park. the man there speaks really good english and he'll give you a great deal. his name is joe.

you need to go to that underground 'strip' where they sell the video games. look for the EA Sports advertisement and then just go down the ramp. the store is about a quarter of the way down the strip. they have a red sign, but its in korean. ask someone there where game park is and they'll tell you.

he's a really friendly guy and will give you a great deal. im going tomorrow to pick up my modded machine.

tell him steve and vic sent you Smile

steve.

you can get it right on the spot. the mod chip only takes 30 mins or so to install. we chose to get about 70 games copied on the machine so it takes a day or so.

there's one main console area, if you go from Yongsan station, then take the covered walkway out of the station, it's around there on the ground floor.

The guy I bought my xbox off was great, excellent english, he got me all modded and chipped up, 160gig hard drive, 2 controllers, some *ahem* backups of games on the hard drive, all done in a couple of hours for 340k.
Dead honest guy, I asked him about a few games that he told me not to bother with cos they were rubbish, and some speaker system that he also said wasn't worth the money.

His shop is close to the entrance of that underground console area, only a few stalls down from the entrance- and, well I feel mean saying this, but he's got a big birthmark on his face so you can't really miss him.

It's nice to get good customer service in Yongsan for a change isn't it?

go to sinyongsan station (follow the FAQ in the Technology forum). go under the tunnel, and keep walking and you'll get to the covered area on your right where they sell all the hard drives and stuff outside on the tables.

keep walking and youll pass a whole bunch of dvd salesguys on your left. you'll keep walking till you get to an intersection. across the road you'll see a huge strip with SK, KTF and LG telecom stores. the console area is just to the left of that. its down a little ramp and its a couple hundred metres of console goodness.

game park will be on your right side about 10 stores down.

Anyone know if it's safe to use one of those small plug adapters or do I need to invest in some sort of voltage converter?

Me Want! Me Want! If it's an english system then it shouldn't be hard to get my Xbox Live renewed. Right?

I'd be careful with that. Back home my room mate had a modded XBOX that he had some success running on live for a bit... but then it got detected and his live account was terminated... with no refund.
