2003 was a bad rainy season. I'd say I easily bought 10+ that year. Today I bought #2 and 3 for this year. I like to leave them at the office or in taxis especially. I can't remember having this problem before I came to Korea. Anyone else?

First one I bought this year the handle broke off and the umbrella bit got jammed (wouldn't open) literally three seconds after I'd bought it. It's a Family Mart 'Mary Cohr Paris' model for you consumer watchdogs out there. The canopy (?) now opens with a bit of coaxing, but the 'handle' is purely decorative and falls off if one attempts to hold it.

Second one is bigger and posh-looking, still intact but I'm scared to take it anywhere as I'll inevitably lose it.

Last year, I bet I bought 5...and not because I lost them....most of them are absolute pieces of crap. I just started "borrowing" the ones that stayed in the bucket by the door of my hakwon for extended periods.

I probably bought about five last year. Every single one was left at the bar during a rainy weekend night. I always tell myself to take it home and I always forget.

This year I've bought 1.

How many days has it rained? take that number and subtract 3 and divide by 2. Thats how many! Umbrellas are just rental tools. Buy, forget and repeat.

actually what was weird was being caught in a rainshower back in new zealand and the local Convience stores didn't stock them to buy Shocked

Had to walk 4 block in the rain to find a local wal mart place that sold them.

Hey, I made a post about the quality of umbrellas 3 years ago (before there were mods) and Dave deleted my post.

Zero... sorry, but I just can't stomach a guy (not in a business suit) carrying around an umbrella- its a little to dainty and poofy for my tastes.

Umbrellas and lighters.

Haven't had to buy them in two years of living in Korea.

Stores, hofs, and random ajumas are always giving them to me.
