there is NOTHING a school can do to you if you post a warning about them.
if they stole from you, i'd suggest you have a duty to warn others.

I think that anybody who has a school that they think should be avoided then they should put it here on the board and place a reason as well (not paying on time or correct amount, terrible housing etc..) so that anybody else applying for a job in that particular school can check it up and avoid it.

Maybe we should have a sticky on this board about the schools that we should avoid?

You mean a blacklist. I think that stuff is posted on the Job Information Journal Page somewhere on the site, but not on the message boards.

That's true, but for some reason the Job Information Journal has not been posting new complaints against schools for several months now. I don't know why exactly, but I've tried to post about my school for the past 6 months, and still nothing.

Until that problem is rectified we have no choice but to post on here. Confused

By the way, don't work for Hyundae Interpretation language academy in Gim hae........... unless you like not getting paid.

Cheers

Whats the point if you don't name the school...there are hundreds of hagwons in Busan if not thousands..

If you don't work there anymore I wouldn't worry to much.

What attitude??

He had a bad experience at a school, doesn't want anybody else to experience the same but is afraid to write the name of the school due to repercusions....

He found a new job at a new school so I am pretty sure he is going to be OK, so why not put the schools name up.

Stay away from Hamilton, Daehak, or Korea Campus (They have a variety of aliases). Mr. Lee and his dragonlady wife have reeked havoc from Incheon to Seoul. I thought he had gone to jail, but apparently they have resurfaced near their old stomping grounds near Bangbae station. If you have an interview near Bangbae station with a fat little fick who can't speak a lick of English, drop everything and run as fast as you can! Run Forrest Run!!!

They may have job postings on here, which is why any attempts to get onto the job info journal by numerous people have failed.

Run Forrest Run!!!

If I ever were to make a film set in a nightmarish English hagwon, I'd make the central villain of the piece a female wonjangnim. Men can be lying, physically menacing thugs, true, but that's just so standard fare. To me, brute male force is never quite as compelling on the screen or in the dark recesses of the mind as a good Dragon Lady, all dressed up in full PsyOps gear, fishnet stockings and a whip.

Are there any threads that might serve as research material for my upcoming psycho-thriller, The Dragon Lady of Snappy-Time English Academy I?

Sorry about that. Embarassed

I reread it. I was thinking he shouldn't worry about it since he was finished with the school and he should put it behind himself.

Now I get it. Yeah, he shouldn't worry about it. Post away. However, I have heard of some teachers' blacklist that hogwans have put together. But, that doesn't worry me personally because I'm 6 months away from retiring from this mess. Very Happy
