This could be false, but I wondered if anyone can verify this posting on the Worknplay job board:

"Hi everyone,
I just heard that there was an immigration bust in Kangnam last week. Three teachers were caught going into some companies. This freaks me out as I have been doing this kind of teaching for some time. Anyone heard anything else?

Peter "

I wouldn't say it was false
But I also wouldn't say it is real either

You must remember, as Jongnoguru has gleefully demonstrated (hahahaha...) there is a massive crackdown on foreign teachers at all levels.

I can confirm 2 teachers, busted at Sam-sung, held in detention. One was on an E-2, but not for Sam-sung. The other was on a tourist visa (C-3, probably).

I can confirm it because they worked with an occasional DESLer who also works at Sam-sung - it just happened on her off day.

Furthermore, I can also confirm that Immigration did a pretty heavy sweep of southern Seoul/Gyung-gi not too far back - it was all the hot topic for awhile at Rockssin & other watering holes.

As DLR once crooned, 'Fair Warning!'

It's a stupid law, but if you break it you pay the price when you get caught.

Well, there's a post on EFL-Law that something like 100+ teachers were busted this week. No link or information to back it up, though.
