|
|
I have an E2 visa, and I've also had two in the past. My current visa will expire on July 24th. I'm planning to extend my visa another year with my current employer.
Unfortunately, a few days ago I lost my original degree on the subway and I've not yet had any luck getting it back.
My boss says I don't need to show my degree again just to get an extension. But he often says whatever he thinks I want to hear.
So I'd like to know from people who've gotten extensions (recently) what you did to get your extension from immigration. Thanks. |

I renewed mine about a month ago and didn't need my degree , though I bought it just in case. The forms that the employer has to fill out for the blue paper need to be renewed ( school should handle that) and you've gotta bring, passport, contract, assorted papers from school and 30,000W. Takes about half an hour once you get through the line up. |

But pep, that was just before all of this "sealed degree" mess started.
For whatever reason, my employer wanted my degree again in February when I renewed -- but that, too was before the "sealed degree" thing. |

it's not a sealed degree, it's a transcript, and I brought one of those with me too. |

Last time I showed anyone my degree here was 6 years ago, but who knows? Good thing to have on hand anyway, plus a few sealed transcripts. You've got time to contact your university -- why not just do it now & save yourself the worry? |

re: transcripts- I've ordered 50 of them...obviously each potential employer demands one in a sealed envelope now.
So am I going to get 50 separate envelopes arriving soon, or do they send them all in one envelope? which, presumably if someone opens, all other 49 immediately become invalid???
Crazy....I detest offialdom and paperwork more than just about anything else. |
