hello to all. i've heard a lot of people lately talking about why busan is better than seoul and i'd like to hear people's opinions as to why this is?
i'm 4 months new to korea and i'm still trying to learn about the different areas.
also, would anyone be interested in a swap, a sort of my friend (who's a girl) and i crash at your pad in busan and you (or 2 of you) crash at our pad for a sort of an exchange... |

I've lived in both towns. I like both for different reasons.
I like Busan because of the ocean/beaches, nearby mountains, slightly cooler summers, and slighly warmer winters.
This is something to a shock to people who haven't lived in Busan (people who only visit it rave about it as they stay in Haeundae with predominately Seoul people).. but the real Busan people annoyed the hell out of me when I lived there. Extremely provincial small-town minded and extremely xenophobic with an annoying sense of pride that goes to levels unheard of elsewhere.
Seoul doesn't have the nature aspect or climate aspect of Busan (although its not that much different in the global perspective). But at least in Seoul, the people are much more world-wise knowledgeable and have a lot more exposures to a lot more things - something with I appreciate anyways.
If I could live in Haeundae Beach (where lots of foreigners and Seoul people go, then Busan is great). I don't dislike Busan as a city.. I love it as a city. I just wish the people were different. |

that makes good sense, thanks for the reply.
I've heard there's a lot of auzzies and kiwis there and that that makes for a better environment, since they are more laid back and stressfree than the avg. North American.
How about getting privates? Is it harder to find them since the city has less of an international feel? |

Which is better, New York or L.A.?
London or Paris?
Istanbul or Cairo?
Delhi or Mumbai?
Whitehorse or Yellowknife?
Does anybody else besides me get sick of these kinds of questions?
Everybody has different needs and wants. |

Because you couldn't cut it in Seoul, you pathetic burger-flipping Busanians! You like it there because it's the only town that will have your kind! Choke on it. |
