Since I have been driving in Seoul, so many times have I thought;;;;

"what the hell is that guy thinking!!!"

Ive got a few quotes of things that have never crossed their minds

"Maybe I shouldnt park here it might mess up traffic"

"Maybe I shouldnt enter this intersection on a yellow light with 15 cars already backed into the intersection"

Maybe this is a rant, but seriously.....

Maybe I'll leave home 5 minutes earlier tomorrow so I don't have to race through intersections.

Do you have this experience:

You come up to your left=hand turn and there is a car coming. You have your turn signal on and you stop to let the other car go past. Then it stops. Right in the middle of the street. It stops. The driver waves at you to turn in front of him.

Hmmm no parking spot in front of the store I will drive around the block and find one. Laughing

gosh....does that turn signal on the car ahead of me (wanting to turn into my lane) actually mean I should hit the break (not the accelerator)?

should I yield?

yield...what does that mean?

yield

I really shouldn't drive on sidewalks.

I really shouldn't park on sidewalks.

I really should obey the 'straight' arrow and not turn left and cut off my fellow drivers who have waited patiently.

Although bulls rush red objects, I think the red light means something different.

I really ought not to park in a driving lane, even if for only 2 minutes.

One-way roads are for cars only going in X direction.

I should respect motorcyclists' right to the road.

(Taxi Driver) Hmmm...today I think I will use public rest rooms and give that tree a break.

Today I am not going to double park.

Today I'm going to head into a parking spot rather than block traffic while I back into one.

Today I'm only going to turn left from a left turn lane.

'Maybe today I won't park in the bus lane on Daehangno in the middle of rush hour so I won't have to ignore the horn of the red off-road bike behind me! Maybe the mad foreigner won't stop this time and repeatedly punch my window screaming, 'YOU FLOCKING SELFISH CNUT' (or something like that!)... when he can't get round the bus which has pulled out to avoid me. In fact, how can he if I don't park there like the selfish tool I am!'

God... I hate thirteen hour days!

Maybe putting on my hazard lights is actually confusing people as to which direction my next crazy maneuver will be. I should just use left or right accordingly.

And, I suppose, flicking on the hazards doesn't mean I can park anywhere I fancy.

I'll bet that ta-bahng girl on the scooter is a very virtuous, hard-working young woman. She'd make a good daughter-in-law. I think I'll introduce her to my son.

Maybe I should merge into the closest lane and not the furthest so as to not nearly cause an accident. . .

Maybe I should use my signal lights because people actually CAN'T read my mind

Maybe I should turn my high beams off when driving at night

Maybe I should drive in the slow (right) lane on the expressway if I'm only going to do 90~110

Maybe I should not make sudden unexpected stops if there is a horde of cars behind me

Maybe I should yield when merging so oncoming traffic doesn't have to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting me

Maybe I'll think about the fact that I'm not the only driver on the road, others have as much right as I to the road, and maybe I should observe the rules and etiquette of driving. . .

But then again, maybe not.

Maybe the "whip-lash" driving technique is not the most fuel efficient style and doesn't actually save me any time...

(when travelling with kids) Maybe i shouldn't let the fruit of my loins climb out the windows and yell "hi" to the stange foreigner we pass on the road...

And thirdly, "wow, it must be really cool to be a foreigner and to actually come from a place where diversity and individualistic thinking is acceptable, if not encouraged. I would like to get to know a foreigner and understand what it is like to be a human being from a different culture."
