Are you ready for the students to visit you? Will they come smiling or begging?

Best fucking semester I've ever had. Had a assfull of work with planning and grading and other stuff but both my computer students and my advanced writing students made a ton of progress and my freshmen responded better to learning learner autonomy than they ever have before. My advanced English class kicked ass and while I really laid the homework on my classes, not a word of complaint or a hint of a whine.

Of course, the begging won't start until after I post the grades next week.

Yes, 'tis the season, again. The freshmen couldn't give a rat's ass, because freshman year is the 'twilight zone', accompanied by the' makkoli zone', not to mention the 'can I get lucky in any possible way' zone. Seniors, however, are differently motivated. It's a cold and indifferent job market out there, and some of them will do (almost) anything to: a) avoid it, or b) hit the ground running with some kind of lead on the competition. How many times have I heard, "If you give me a B+, I'll lose my scholarship." Their ploys are humble, if not subtle; my office fridge is jammed with offerings of mango juice.

Be very careful. The anti-corruption squad may catch you and seek to fine you.

Indeed, I am concerned. How do I justify the quantity of mango juice in my keeping? Is it for personal use, or am I planning to turn it over, for big won, 180ml at a time? Now if the rich father of a princess student (or a student princess) were to hand me the keys to a new Tuscani, I might lose my perspective. Not likely to happen.

RR: Thanks for that link. An achingly beautiful rendition. And now I'm going to play it again. Cheers.
