I've arrived in Seoul. Actually, I've been here for a day or so, but could't get to a computer.
I'll start working two Mondays from now, I was going to work sooner, but my family wants me to check out the DMZ. I asked them whats in the DMZ, they said nothing, so I replied so why should I go. Anyways, its a good trip with the relatives here.
With the exception of a few, you guys were of no help at all. Hopefully I can contribute more and without the attitude and bitterness that many exhibit.
Hopefully I see some of you around, I'll be in Inchon. |

Hey! Way to set up a good vibe!!!!
Anyway. Enjoy Korea. The DMZ is worth a visit just for the spooky atmosphere alone. Do the tour with the US army. |

Hmm... there's nothing like listening to someone else give themselves a self-righteous pat on the back. What a great lunch read. Good luck in your pursuit of becoming one of the truly helpful ones. I think Confucius would give you a gold star on your sticker chart, if he were here. |

Since I don't recognize your name i figured I would have a look back and see who caused you the consternation to have such lovely opening remarks.
I wanted to see the unanswered questions and who on the board had victimized you...lo and behold, it's you.
Thoughts on the questions you ask from your own mouth, mixed with a few stereotypes about Korean women.

I think some people had the impression that I was lurking around posting absurd questions. Korean girls in the states tend to be a little more reserved. Most girls that marry, usually marry their first and only boyfriend or the only one that they bumped uglies with.

I admit it. I am a single male. My hormones are out of control. I admit to having premarital sex with women and having been tempted to have more premarital sex with many more. I also admit to having seen sexually explicit adult movies. I've been tempted and under the influence of the devils brew. I inhaled. I drive over the speed limit. I duplicated baseball games without the explicit written consent of the commissioner or of the MLB. I've stolen second base.

This little gem from Introduce your site.

It's not mine but its soo funny. I think most members are teachers so you guys really need to kick up the instruction a notch or two.

Then you jumped right in with another gem Body or Face

If it's your baby's mama, would you want ugly kids with nice bodies. I wouldn't. I'd like to see my daughter (or son) and see their beautiful mother in them.
Although I'll add that some women maintain great figures. I've seen some and thought, I'd love for my wife to be looking like that when she's 50. I won't be needing any Viagra.

Maybe you needed a little help with revisionist history?

One of George Bush's (senior) missions was the Bay of Pigs. Recall that JFK did not authorize air support. Anyways it was a slaughter and an embarassment to the US. It also showed JFK's defiance. To end the story, the Bush's are rumored to have been part of the asassination. They are and have been a powerful family with powerful ties

Perhaps you had a question about religion that went unanswered?

Then of course there is nothing like a little *beep*
And of course under authors you have a crush on:

Brook Burke, I'm sure she's written something.

BTW, Koreans aren't very good at drinking they just do it a lot...I haven't met a lot of Koreans with high tolerance levels.

Culture/race may have something to do with this, but drinking a lot is whats responsible. For those that can drink more than others, simply do, that is drink more.
I've had my fraternity days, kegger days, etc. I've had my practice. I'm much more toned down now, but i still love to get obliterated, skunk drunk every now and then.

Then there is this little ditty from the tech forum:

But in fairness out of the 20 posts you actually did eventually ask 3 questions. What were the pressing questions that went unanswered?:
Can you post pictures of Incheon? (In which you posted your addy)
Even though your addy is in the full format I couldn't bring myself to post it. Edited *beep*

The address of where I'll be going is

Can you tell me a gym in Incheon?
Can you tell me what to bring I am a Korean citizen?
The Korean citizen question people focused in on the important issue of military service. And if you were smart you wouldn't have tied these two items together on the board (Your addy and the fact you haven't done MS). If you came in on your american passport you may have evaded them looking for the fact you need to do military service but if you are also a Korean citizen you are still required to do it. Foreigners have outed other foreigners for doing privates, smoking weed, don't you think these same losers might get a kick out of putting up someone acting like an arse on the board? (and you received a bunch of advice in the original thread.)
Anyway, something about "choosing battles", "kettles, black"...I don't know...but good luck with making the board a more useful and friendly place. (yes folks, I was bored...end of year party last night and I don't feel like moving from the bed) |

This isn't a Rainbow Gathering, buddy...people have plenty of things to say about Korea...both good and bad...so don't focus too much on the former that you become blind to the latter (or vice versa). People come here to grouse and blather anonymously (except for those of us who work together and know each other's ID)...feel free to do both.
When I first got here, the accomodation I was promised would not be available for a month...I had to sleep on the living room floor and keep my gear on the porch. I was sharing with FOUR other people, and the only decent person was the one getting fired...the guy I was replacing.
We lived down the street from a public cemetary and a slaughterhouse that smelled perpetually of feces and blood. The only PC room for about two miles featured some cretin who read my e-mail and spied on everything I did on the computer. My boss and his 2nd in command were constantly looking over everyone's shoulder and telling them they sucked, that is...when they weren't yelling at them. Yay, Way-Day-Oh Kimpo! Hope you're having a better start than that.
Cheers. |

I don't have regular computer access right now, whenever an opportunity arises I check my messages and stuff.
It's going well. I'm all set up with my employer. So for a week or so more I'm going to travel Korea a bit. I'm not a teacher, but an electrical engineering senior working in SK for the summer. I found out that I might have 11 hour work days, so I might end up bitter! |
