Hi all,

I have been living in Korea now for about 3 years and I will be leaving soon with my wife. In that time we have accumulated a lot of stuff that we would like to bring back to Australia. I was wondering what is the cheapest way to ship stuff back home. It doesn't need to be fast (I'm going to have to live with my parents for a while when I get back Crying or Very sad ) so if it takes a month or so then that is cool. Any and all info will be welcomed.

I used the local post office. They have boxes of various sizes. Each box size has a weight limit. The clerk can tell you about the weight. They also have a 'fast' and 'slow' delivery rate. I shipped about 20 boxes. Nothing was broken or lost. I was very happy with the service.

If you have a lot of large items you want to take, shipping them (by boat!) might be the cheapest way. Have a Korean friend call a few companies to find out the prices. Are you SURE you need all of the stuff you're taking? Selling it here on Dave's might be a better option!

This question is the easiest ever asked.

Just ship it by boat.. takes 1-2 months.. I've done it dozens and dozens of different times. The beauty is you can put real heavy shit in the box.. and its still cheap. (But only ship the stuff you want to have around).

Why people ship kitchen garbage and other garbage when you can replace it cheaper then shipping it is beyond me.

Yep from what Ive heard, shipping is definately the way to go. My aunty moved to aussie and they paid by the half 'container' regardless of weight. The half container cost $500 and it held their king bed, sofas, dressing tables etc...

It all depends on the shipping company though as well
