Can somone recommend a dermatologist. I'm going to get some moles removed by laser (facial). Do you guys know how much they charge? Do you know of anyone who has had this done? How is the recovery and how long? How about scarring if any?

Actually Korea does a lot of mole removal

There are tons of dermatology clinics and all of them offer laser removal of tattoos and moles.

If I were you, I'd check into Lee Jiham skin clinic in either Apkujeong (across the street from California Fitness on 3rd or 4th floor I think) or the same company in Bundang at Seohyun station (not exactly sure where). Very upper-scale place, and it costs me a whopping 3,000 won when I go there with health insurance.

They are great, and probably can put you in touch with the right place if they can't do it.

Oh, here's their website, and they have locations all over:

I-dae: 706-7600
Sinchon: 704-7600
Kangnam: 567-5900
Seocho: 561-0007
Cheongdam: 596-3600
Kangbok: 939-4700
Busan: 051-806-2100

actually you can find excellent doctors here who will get the job done for less than back home.

I've had dealings with woo skin near sookmyung womens' university station. He's a little more pricey but he does excellent work. I got some acne cleared up there and serveral of my friends have had things cleared up by him.

www.wooskin.co.kr

he regularly goes back to the states to keep up to date on the latest developments in treatment and his english is very good.

yeah I realise that there are a lot of cowboys out there but this guy really knows there stuff.

I suppose the most important thing to do before going to these places is do your homework. I went htere because a friend had been there and had good results. Ask your doctor where they have practiced if they haven't gone out of korea, then that should be sending alarm bells off.

Well, Lee Jiham workers (at least one of them) write about skin problems for the Korea Herald, and the two doctors i've seen both spoke English (one of them just like you and me) and were educated in the USA.

yeah in general I would say that if they've spent time studying in the states at some point during their medical training then your likelyhood of seeing a cowboy diminishes a lot I'd say.

I haven't been to lee ji ham so have no idea, woo has been good to me and others I know that have been there.

I went to one today. It was pretty fairly upscale. I couldn't tell you the their name. It was written up in Vogue or some other Ladies magazine, that they had prominently displayed on one of their tables.
