Hi guys,

I've tried searching for this but the search seems broken if u choose the include all words option :S

I've got my second lesson with teachers next week. We're doing shopping as a topic. So I've got my little phrase sheets worked out and some neato roleplay ideas but I'd like to award the best "student" a little prize. Any idea of something which won't cost a lot but will not be percieved as patronising/offensive?

Ta,

Chris

What exactly is your rationale for this? Just tell them the prize is knowledge and honour.

Are you sure you want to single out just one. That could be offensive. If you insist, I suggest going with the one free hug idea. Another free honor to hand out is 'teacher's helper' who gets to hand out handouts.

IMO, it would be better to buy a bag of mini candy bars (or some such) and handing out one to everyone at the end because they 'all tried so hard'.

You might also want to define 'best' as 'tries the hardest' rather than 'gets the most right answers'.

This is a good idea. I'm going to try it out with my corporate classes tomorrow evening and let you know how it goes.

A thought though - how about printing out the hug vouchers in braille?
