Go get the new degree, and this time, invest in a courier service. |

Here's my answer to #1:
Immediately request a new degree/transcript set sent to Footprints via DHL's fastest route as quickly as possible.
The other ones which were sent elsewhere -- have them re-send them to you, at your dime, un-opened. Then you will have an unopened set for later if you ever need them again. And you might. |

Another question: Re tax exemption.
All instructors, except Canadians, will be exempted from paying Korean income tax for the first two years.
In order to be tax exempted, I'm required to submit the following to one's supervisor within the first month of employment: an Application Form provided (fine) and a copy of Residence Certificate (issued by the competent authority - Revenue Office of your resident country) - what the fork is a Residence Cert? Never heard of it. I don't need a residence cert - I'm bloody British, I was born here and lived here all my life! |
Go to the revenue/taxation office and see if they have the form. I never heard of "non-residency" status in Canada until I had to look into it at Revenue Canada. I've also heard of British citizens being tax-exempt, but you will have to pay into the pension programme here, which is not refundable because you are a British citizen. Anyway, it doesn't hurt to go in and ask if the office has the mentioned form. Based upon your salary, it might save you at least 684,000won for your year. |
