Reminds me of Farwell and Robertson blaming 9/11 on the heathen homosexuals and the atheists at the ACLU.

Quote:
Nationally syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh declared that "if we get hit again" by terrorists, it will be the fault of Democratic senators, the mainstream media, and Amnesty International, "who have names and identities and spend their every waking moment trying to obstruct our ability to secure intelligence information for our own national security."

From the June 14 broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: Let me tell you something, folks, if we are hit again, if we are hit again, we need to hold these people in our country who are undermining our efforts responsible. It ain't going to be the FBI's fault next time. It isn't going to be the CIA's fault next time. It isn't going to be some bureaucracy's fault next time. It's going to be the fault of politicians, left-wing groups and the like who have names and identities and spend their every waking moment trying to obstruct our ability to secure intelligence information for our own national security.

You want some names: [Sen. Patrick] Leahy [D-VT], [Sen. Joseph R.] Biden [D-DE], [Sen. Richard J.] Durbin [D-IL], [Sen. Barbara] Boxer [D-CA], [Sen. Edward] Kennedy [D-MA], [Senate Majority Leader Harry] Reid [D-NV], Newsweek, Time, The New York Times, Amnesty International. If we get hit again, these are the names of the people and organizations we need to look at when we're trying to find out why and how it happened.

What we should blame is this ridiculous "hearts and minds" crap. When a nation goes to war, they should be at war. Wipe the enemy out -- totally. And if anyone stands in the way, take them out too. They're the enemy.

Don't give me this trash about how we need to be humane. War is not humane. It can never be. The countries on this earth who won wars in the past 20,000 years didn't do it by giving in to the *beep* cries of the doves.

Give "innocents" enough warning to get the hell out of Dodge, then obliterate the place and take everything as your own. if they don't want to leave -- tough eggs. And make other nations in the area know that they are next if they support the enemy.

War is to win. Period. War is hell. We should quit trying to make it seem less than that.

Rush is just conducting his own pre-emptive strike. He knows that after the billions of dollars this administration has spent since 9/11, about the only thing that has changed is we have to take our shoes off at the airport and we can't carry cigarette lighters and nail clippers on board. Meanwhile, the borders are still open and no one checks the tens of thousands of containers coming into our ports every day. Bush and boys have bungled the whole security issue by making us safe from the last attack.

it's amazing how the US is doing everything half-assed backwards in this so-called war on terror....

yeah, it takes a genius to strip search grandma and confiscate her knitting needles while letting tens of thousands cross the border daily and being afraid of the "human rights" crowds who are afraid of violating ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS rights....

yeah, real fucking smart

That isn't where the politically powerful opposition is coming from. It's coming from the employers of illegal workers. The beef/pork slaughterhouses are delighted with the current situation. They've been able to reduce hourly wages from $20 to $9 an hour. And who would clean the houses and wipe the bums of the babies of the rich women? You know they ain't gonna do it themselves.

What America needs is an immigration crackdown on employers. Any bets on when that will happen?

And with the Republicans slobbering over every Hispanic voter they can get their hands on, does anyone really think they'll do anything to pixx off Florida (17%) and Texas (32%)?

The Germans tried to do that during the Second World War. Are you advocating a new holocaust Derrek?

Yes, you are right Gopher, wars are to win, and sometimes dreadful things happen in wars. But a country with any spine at all would take what has happened, and, without being forced to by international pressure, admit the dreadful things and take responsibility for them. So far in Iraq, the U.S. administration has not done this at all, and has shown a willingness, nay a marked desire, to worm its way out of any and all responsibilty unless forced to accept it. And then as little as possible.

Oh, the hypocrisy, the hypocrisy!! Smile

Has the US behaved worse than other nations at war? If anything the US has behaved a lot better.
