In Itaewon there is a Mexican restaurant that serves sort of Mexican food. Highly overpriced and highly crappy.

In Yeodio there is La salsa loca, damn good stuff- comparable to a Chevy's. Also, if you make nice with a GI there is a delicious Taco Bell on base

There's also a tiny little taco stand near Itaewon that's run by a guy who lived in Mexico, and the food there is pretty good ( 'cept the nachos)

I dont agree with this statement. It seemed pretty crappy to me. What I ordered there tasted like Koreanized mexican food, and I hate that. I had better luck at Panchos in Itaewon this past weekend. On Thursday nights there is latin dancing and free drinks for the ladies (I've heard)... I've never been but I want to come out one Thursday and see what it's like.

I went to that mex place on Yeouido and wasn't impressed. Friendly service, it smelled like a Mexican restaurant when I walked in, but the food was missing something.

Chili Chili's at Noksapyeong seems to be the most it.

Don't take everything Grotto has to say as unbiased truth...he's a little cranky. Granted, it's not the best Mexican food you'll ever have but it does the trick...if you don't mind waiting a while in a diner the size of an airplane bathroom with eighteen other sweaty foreigners and Koreans??? who like Mexican food.

Make your own. It's easy and it will taste better. Plus, you don't have to go to Itaewon to buy it.

Do what I did...

Go to Costco and buy some frozen tortillas, chips, ground beef, cheese (perhaps cheddar and Monterey Jack), and salsa, which is enough to make burritos, nachos, and quesadillas at home. If you want to get really fancy, go to Hannam market, where you can find taco meat seasoning packets to add some spice to the meat. Onions, green onions, and other basics can be found at your regular Korean market.

I've been making a lot of Mexican food at my home lately and it beats what little Mexican you can find at restaurants here.

Now I wasn't sure who I should trust more: you or PP. Since you described Taco Bell as delicious, I gotta go with PP's review as the more accurate one.

Taco Bell is one of those things that you hype in your head, then when you actually have it, you realize how bad it is.

I like Taco Bell the same way I like McDonalds... it's an expected taste. I hate real mexican food. It's too soupy for me. I like an after-taste of cardboard. I generally have very indiscriminate taste in food, but I hate Koreanized mexican or koreanized western food.
