The lion story is pretty amazing, but I also found it amazing that 70% of marriages in Ethiopia are by ABDUCTION. Be sure to read the story until the end.

Kidnapping young girls has long been part of the marriage custom in Ethiopia (search). The United Nations estimates that more than 70 percent of marriages in Ethiopia are by abduction, practiced in rural areas where most of the country's 71 million people live. |
Don't post these kind of irrelevant statistics here; we want folks on Dave's to believe that Korean MEN are the devils. Korean MEN. |

Nope...but you? Tourettes?
(an inherited, neurological disorder characterized by repeated involuntary movements and uncontrollable vocal (phonic) sounds called tics. In a few cases, such tics can include inappropriate words and phrases.) |

Stockholm syndrome
Quote: |
Long-term psychological study of this and similar hostage situations has defined a fairly clear and characteristic set of symptoms for the Stockholm Syndrome:
The captives begin to identify with their captors. At least at first this is a defensive mechanism, based on the (often unconscious) idea that the captor will not hurt the captive if he is cooperative and even positively supportive. The captive seeks to win the favor of the captor in an almost childlike way.
The captive often realizes that action taken by his would-be rescuers is very likely to hurt him instead of obtaining his release. Attempts at rescue may turn a presently tolerable situation into a lethal one. If the bullets of the authorities don't get him, quite possibly those of the provoked captor will. |

Unfortunately, there were no Korean lions to rescue Corporal. Possibly from extinction due to their demand in stamina enhancing products, possibly from choice. |

Lions are truly noble beasts..and have made very loving, loyal and courageous companions to men since time immemorial. Raised from cubs, lions will become like a family member- and fearless in protecting their human friends. Has anybody ever read "Tommy goes home" or "Born free", (of course.) They have an intelligent and loving nature, despite being the fierce king of beasts.
In this case it appears that some territorial lions were prepared to see off a threat, not only to them, and guard a vulnerable child- perhaps the distressed cries triggered a protective response. But some of their behaviour cannot simply be put down to mere instinct. They are..Divine.
Lions are affectionate.
