I'm sure this has been asked many times - although a search wasn't particularly fruitful, actually - so apologies if some find this a tedious subject.
Football is massive in Korea, right? When I say football, I of course mean Soccer.
I'm a bit of a football anorac really. I need access to:
La Liga (Spain)
Serie A (Italy)
Premiership (England)
Champions League (Europe)
Are these well-covered on Korean telly and how do they get around the obvious problem of time differences? Live games repeated at a reasonable (ie evening) time? Extended highlights shows? I'm a Manchester United supporter and my assumption is that it's easy to follow them in Korea - right or wrong? United are of course on the verge of signing a South Korean player (Park Ji-Sung) so what extent will this have an impact?

two things mal, change your freakin avatar...and try to post something useful.
As for football coverage, if you get ESPN in your cable/satellite package, you will get good coverage. If not, you'll get maybe 1 or two EPL matches a week. Forget about La Liga or any other league, from what I know. I don't have ESPN.
And if you're interested, we'll be hosting the EPL Prediction-tastic Year 2 competition starting in early August so feel free to join. The rules and everything will be posted later for you to read and figure out.

Can someone in the know out there inform me when K-league games are played? Saturday or Sunday? Also, where do FC Seoul play their home matches? At the World Cup Stadium?
Are there any other teams based in Seoul?
If someone can provide me with relevant links or other sites where I can find such information in English, I would be grateful.

When he was playing for PSV Eind. the MBC ESPN schedule showed repeats of the games 3 and 4 times a week, so it looks like it could be good for you....
My boyfriend just makes a habit of checking the sports channel websites each week to see which games will be on, which games will be live (and trust me there are a lot of times that he (and therefore I) wake up at 3am to watch the footy, and which ones he'll watch on repeat the next morning.
Lots of pubs have SkyLife and our locals are used to us coming in an hour before the game to ask if they are showing it. Becuase the locals are pretty into the footy, there's usually no trouble getting the Premiership games, and near the end of the season, all the Champions League games were on.
I've never seen any of the other European leages on though. |

La Liga - no, but they do show hihlights of big games
Serie A-I see hardly any..
Premiership - there was 1 or 2 games a week the last few seasons on cable...might explode now Park Ji Sung has signed, good if you like Man U
Champions League - lots and lots....2 or 3 games a week if you have cable, ESPNmbc seems to be the one for that... |
