I am arriving in Busan after doing my tesol in thailand next month. We are looking for some english teaching work. Is it easy enough to find work on the ground once I am in busan?

Does anybody know of any lists of language schools/hagwons in busan?
What is the best approach to job hunting once in a specific location?

Many thanks

Adam

It's mostly Seoul, but there are some Busan schools to give you something to go on here:
http://www.eslsource.com/eslsource/School_List.cfm/CON_ID/1/Type/1

If you find a Korean friend quickly, ask if they can pull off a contact list of all schools in Busan from the internet and help you out in that regard.

In addition to calling schools, make sure that you send an email to every recruiter's email address that you can find. Make sure that you mention in the email subject line that you are in Korea now and able to start ASAP. This will help your email stand out amongst all the others that they have in their inbox that simply says 'resume' or 'applying for xyz job'.

Make sure that you put a lot of attention to your photos that you email out. Have them professionally done if you can. Great and attractive photos of yourself will put you at or near the top of their reply list, even if your resume says diddly squat.
