What's the reason for barring people from entering the party? So English can enter, but not Chinese? I can kind-of see the point if it was a Canadians only party. Why don't they just say no DDD workers? Confused So much for the "united" nations. I know some Russians here, and they are f-ing cool. It's not a party w/out the Russians, I say.

It says something like "due to USFK policy, people from Russia, China, Myanmar, or Nigeria must register for the event one month ago". It's a stupid and arbitrary list. Why Nigeria and no other African country? Why China? Why Russia? They're allies of the U.S., capitalist nations and major trading partners. Why not the usual prohibitions of "Cuba, North Korea, and Iran"? I don't believe this rule was made with honest intentions or any specific security concerns.

Why don't you guys think long and hard about where the party is going to be?

Then maybe this "arbitrary" ban will make sense.

I'll see you there. If there are any Chinese people, I'm leaving.

I thought the tickets were expensive last year, but you do get a full cooked meal (shrimp and steak last time), live music and general entertainment, and your first 2 beers free so it wasn't bad value in the end.

Man thats like almost $53 Canadian... For two beers, a steak and a cover band? I'm not in Korea yet so I won't be going, but out of curiosity, is this not expensive? How much is it usually for a beer in Korea? For a steak?

On behalf of old Brians everywhere, I object. Some of my best friends are old Brians, and they are quite the Speedy Gonzaleseseses.

Yeah, a couple of typos: security and Myanmar.

What a choice: 1. Steak & Salmon 2. Vegetarian pasta. That's a tough choice. I bet you the vegetarians will be kicking themselves when they see the choice that they MUST make.

Remote chance of rain? On the 26th? Try 50/50.

Still, I'd like to go. The procrastinator in me says maybe next time.

Good luck with the weather and the Myanmarians (Myanmarites, Myanmarese, Myanmarisianites?)

i take it from the lack of reply to my above post that beer and steaks are expensive to buy in korea, in general.....? if so, damn thats no good! guess i'll deal with it.

they should bring in a real band and/or dj from canada is what they should do! kid koala was touring through south korea just last week, was he not? i mean they must have a decent budget, with tickets going at $53 a pop.
