Mercury surges to yearly record in southern South Korea
A heat wave gripped South Korea on the weekend, with the mercury surging to a yearly high of 37.7 degrees Celcius in southern parts of the country, meteorological officials said Saturday. In particular, a sauna-like heat enveloped the southeastern city of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, they said.

Man, was it ever hot today in Bundang. Damn humidity. It's a quarter past nine, and I'm turning on the a/c because the humidity's still enveloping.

Is this summer supposed to be worse than last summer? Last summer was awful.

we don't have A/C and with the four of us in the one room I could see us using up all of the oxygen pretty quickly - damned fan death - and to make matters worse we can't open up the windows 'cause no screens! korea has four seasons, so why didn't they include an ac unit for the hot season?

I love this time of year, all you northern hemisphere types bi'otching about the heat and humidity. Doesn't bother me in the slightest having lived for periods in far north Queensland and Thailand. Now you all know how I feel in the winter, hahahah.

I'll be avoiding most of it. Off to London I go. 'Course, a hot summer is predicted over there, too, and there ain't no aircon over there. Oh, well.

what kind of a tool do you have to be to post a message like this?

Good luck getting a pint of Guinness/lager/water/anything for a pound in Dublin.
