I feel like my looks have changed....and I can't really figure out how. I am trying to pinpoint what exactly has changed, but it's difficult.

Perhaps my family and friends will be able to enlighten me when I go home this summer.

My principal and students assure me that everyday I am getting prettier and prettier....which sometimes I don't believe, as in the next breath, I am told I need to wear extra-largee.

I went through periods of weight gain, and a period of just generally feeling ugly and rundown.....I knew then that I had changed. I thought then that maybe my looks were suffering b/c I was lacking a "normal" life....missing a support system, not eating right, crappy work environment at times, pollution, etc.

I am now losing weight....but I am still aware of an overall "changed look," and it's really bugging me....

Do I look older? Perhaps...dunno.

But I look at photos just before I came here, and I think who the heck is that?

Confused

Ive lost a little weight but not really enough to make a big difference...
My regrowth is a browny orange colour thanks to the hairdresser...
My wardrobe is getting brighter and lighter as I buy more clothes - back home I liked solid darker colours, but here I feel so drab and boring!
I think I smile more here... so many new things and new people... I was in a rut back home just bursting to leave!

When I first arrived, my Korean friends said I looked like Bruce Willis. Now they say I look like the KFC man. Confused

I challenge anyone to top that.

When I got here, I was just average looking. Now I look like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise or David Beckham, depending on who you ask.

I'm in better shape since coming here in 2003. I'm stronger, if not any bigger. 10/03, I weighed 75.2 kg and today I weigh 76.1. And that weight increase is all muscle baby.

I think my face looks the same. It's still the same uphill struggle it's always been.

After getting here, I lost about 10 kilos or so from a mixture of eating less, walking everywhere and being too lazy to get or fix myself something to eat.

After getting married, however, my mother-in-law decided to stuff me with as much food as humanly possible, and I gained the 10 kg back.

I look about 6 years younger, despite having been here 3 years.

Lost weight through exercise about 4 times/week.

Am becoming more fanatical about eating/drinking foods with amino acids to help reverse aging.

I use moisturizer on my face every morning, and sometimes before bed at night.

When I ask people how old I look, they often say 28 or 29. I'm 35.

When I was 30, people used to think I was 35.

But I cheat.

Yeah I never realized I looked like Beckham until I came to Seou...

I've lost weight but at the same time Seoul has aged me.

I started growing my hair out from the Buddhist monk-cut I was sporting on arrival. I got tired of every Korean I met asking me why I have no hair.

In the states, people tended either not to notice me or to shy away from me. Attractiveness wise I was at best a low average, and that might be an imaginary at best at that.

Coming here I wanted to make a good impression for Koreans, especially in light of the way they focus on appearances. I've nearly completely changed my style of dress, as well as upgrading the quality of my clothing and just generally paying more attention to how I look.
My outlook on life has gotten better here, and the wounds from dark days past are healing. My demeanor is no longer the dark visaged sociopath that used to make old ladies cross the street.
Finally after some back pains and counseling from a Chinese Medical acquaintance of mine I have straightened up my posture.

Korean girls have always sworn up and down that I'm handsome, but now western girls are starting to do it too. Last night a friend from NZ actually warned me that I that I was leading girls on too much, and might want to start paying attention to the way I act towards females if I didn't want to give them (and my gf) the wrong idea.

We'll see soon enough if this holds true in the states. I kind of doubt it though. I'm heading for the AZ desert. I won't be needing nice clothes much.
