I'm interested in coming to South Korea in September or August to start teaching. I have a TESOL certificate, a BA, and about a year of experience teaching ESL in the US. I have a friend who says I can do better than a hagwon, but I am not having any luck beyond that. I'm really stressed out and frustrated with this. Does anyone know of good, reputable schools that might be interested in someone with my qualifications? I really need some advice...

You can have my hagwon job if you want it. A reputable, stand up school that will pay on time. Why not? PM me if you want more details.

Can you do better than a hagwon? What's better than a hagwon? A university clearly is, but you're under qualified because most want master degrees. Believe me, public schools aren't much better than hagwons. You can use your TESOL in a hagwon, you can't in a public school.

I don't know how you're conducting your job hunt, but if you're looking at lists of jobs like the ones posted at Dave's, a lot of jobs aren't posted until pretty soon before the start date... so a lot (if not most) of the available August and September jobs won't even be up for a few weeks yet. Keep checking.
