Now, Oregon is a small state (populationwise), and, on this list populated largely by Canadians, I am getting the impression that there are quite a few folks who are from Oregon or who have lived in Oregon. Is this really true or is it just that I don't notice it when someone is from Queensland or Missouri or PEI... If you are Oregon-identified, stake your claim here.

As for myself, I was born in Portland and have lived the majority of my life in the state. (oh.... yes, that's Portland, Oregon, not Maine, etc.)

Been through the state a few times.

Liked the northern climate much more than the southern part.

Seemed like a nice enough place to settle down.

3 places: Ashland, Eugene, and Portland. All 3 places were where I would attribute to the best of my years. Plus, I just loved smoking Oregon bud.

I was raised in Bend, Oregon (central area)....graduated from high school there. Spent my childhood skiing at Mt. Bachelor. So, I'm very Oregon pride....it is such a beautiful state. I think one of the biggest mistakes I made in my life was moving from Oregon to live in Southern California (I was 18 and wanted to have fun). Now, I really want to move back up there but living expenses coupled with job scarcity seem like such a hurdle(especially in education). Best places in Oregon are along the coast...I'm gonna start crying if I think about it too much.... Oregon pokkoo shippoyo Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I was born in Portland..and spent much of my childhood there and in N, California.

Went to Columbia Christian Academy where I was expelled for having had alcohol in my locker and then went onto Madison High School

Got my undergraduate from Eastern oregon State.

Learned to ski the bunny slopes at Mt. Bachelor. Sometimes made it past the ski lodges on Hood.

Oregon is great. I lived in Seattle for seven years and we used to make trips just to see the rusty pickup trucks, the flannel jackets and people that say "Maw" and "Paw". Laughing

Never lived there but used to visit at least once a year when growing up since my grandparents lived in the Portland area , which is also where my mom grew up. It is one of the few other spots I'd live here in the States.

i lived in corvallis for 4 years and in eugene for 3 years. i would have NEVER lived in those tiny freak towns if it wasn't for my eduation. i am a city girl and those two towns were BORING as hell. nothing to do. everything closed down around 6. even the whores in those towns went home to watch cold case at 8 on sunday nights.

having said all these shits, i still appreciate the fact that oregon was the ONLY state in the US that offers a full scholarship to foreign students. I thank them for it. I also enjoyed their home-grown herb very much. good stuff, good memory, but i ain't never going to live in a small town, EVER AGAIN.

Everyone I've met that's been to or lived in Oregon has nothing but good things to say about it. And I'm serious - everyone.

If I live in the States again, it'll be in Oregon.

I think it was '92. If Bend is gentrified, I bet Truckee is really posh.
