How does one go about getting a release letter? I am currently employed at one of this country's fine institutions of higher learning. My employer's been quite professional, but Korea's not my cup of tea. Another gentlemen who decided to leave simply gave notice. Is this sufficient?
What's the best way of going about this? |

You only need the LOR if you are planning on remaining in Korea and teaching at another school. If you want to quit and leave the country, then give notice and leave. |

I have no intention of working another job here. That being the case, you're saying I just give notice and leave? How much notice is enough? I'm thinking 30 days would be sufficient.
Thanks for the help. |

Give em thirty days if you think they're going to pay you.
Leave one day after you get paid if you don't.
It's as simple as that. |

I'd like to thank the people who have assisted me on this query. I've been to Korea before, and made the error of coming back. The whole issue of release letters during my last tour was a moot point, due to the fact that I completed my contract, which was a sham, but I digress. I guess everyone is different and some people enjoy working here, but I do not.
I'm glad that making my exit shouldn't be too complex, as I was afraid of complications at the airport. |
