For the past couple years I've regularly gotten my Gardenburgers either from Hannam Supermarket - or the small grocery store you pass on the left before entering the bigger store. I too was disappointed last week when neither place had them in stock...I wasn't able to get a definite answer as to when they'd be available again - so maybe the supplier is on vacation or something... |

Carrefour seems to discontinue a lot of products I like. They used to carry these nice bricks of fine ground coffee. For about 3500 won you got a 250g bag. Now they don't sell it any more. They also used to sell a nice 900 won package of fried rice cake cookies. Again, that seems to have vanished. For a brief amount of time they had bagged bread that tasted just like bread back home... you know not made with sweet cream. That didn't last. Grr. |

It's about time. I'm tired of this crappy, pseudoveghead food. If you want to eat a burger, buy a damn burger. Alfalfa sprouts and parsley on a roll is not a burger; it's an abomination.

It's not "Vegan."
It's "Vegetarian."
"Vegan" is a vain attempt to make "Vegetarian" sound less wussie.
With that said, it's not a bad way to lose weight. |

I think you might be a little confused, Gollum. Vegan refers to people who don't consume or use anything with any animal products at all...not even honey. Vegetarians, well, there are many different kinds. There are the kind that eat eggs and cheese. There are the kind that eat fish. Etc. etc. Vegan is just plain flat out no animal products. Vegetarian can be a bit more complicated and confusing. |

there's something about the premade hamburger patties at homeplus. i don't know if they inject heroin into the beef or what, but those are some magical burgers. i suggest you all go out and buy some right now. |

Well a veggie patty is a far cry from making a range of simulated meat products, like soy hot dogs chemically flavored to taste like it was made from real dead stuff. I don't know anyone that eats a veggie patty as a meat substitute. It's just, you know, a food product.
It's a bit like saying "stop eating falafel and eat schnitzel!" |

What you said, and also, veganism is about more than just food -- so vegans don't wear leather, fur, etc., and do their best to avoid supporting animal exploitation of any kind.
(But originally, vegetarianism meant no flesh products, including fish or other sea animals. Calling "fishatarians" vegetarian really isn't correct.) |

That's precious, meat lovers, ... but if you were nurtured by milk from cows as a baby and through your youth then cows can be considered a special kind of mother - and that's how they are regarded in Vedic culture. The bad karmic reaction for killing cows just to taste their flesh and blood is reportedly extremely severe (... like being repeatedly born as beef cattle and slaughtered mercilously by the same souls whose cow bodies you killed previously) The laws of karma are intricate and all-pervasive, and the killer, the buyer, the seller, the transporter, advertiser and even, to an extent, the government that sanctions slaughterhouses are all implicated to varying degrees. I've been vegetarian for over thirty years, and I still remember the stimulating taste of steak, etc. - which I ate about three times a week when I was a high school football player. Somehow (Krishna's mercy ) I was fortunate to learn the art of karma-free cooking with clarified butter (ghee) which essentially produces the same level of stimulation minus the blood. I think that it's much more difficult for vegans to sustain their meat-free diets because they avoid milk products, mistakenly considering them unnatural. |
