What's up with Korean women wearing these plastic shoes?? I think they call them Jelly shoes. They look cheap and horrible on adults!! Why do they wear them??

I agree!! I hate these and see them everywhere in Korea. It makes any girl over the age of 10 look awful. On a full-grown women, it just looks hideous and comical.
I thought nothing could be worse than last year's fur-trapper style boots, but I guess I was wrong. I'm afraid to see what's next. |

You should have been here when the "Genie shoes" were popular back in 2002.
Anyone have a picture of those? Gawd, those were hideous! They literally looked like long Canoes on their feet, and had loooong points. |

I loved jelly shoes when I was about 6 or 7, maybe younger. Had a blue pair I was quite fond of, even though they really hurt my feet, and after I took em off my feet were super dirty. Learned from an early age that beauty = pain....or somethin like that. They really aren't that great now that I look at them.
I cannot believe they are back, and looking the same as before. But ya, I have seen tonnes of girls out wearing them...wonder if they had em back in the 80's like we did. |

my guess is some crafty entrepreneur found a whole warehouse full of leftover shoes from the 80's, and decided it was the perfect opportunity to make some cash. all he had to do was get a few korean women to start wearing them, and the rest of the herd followed suit. it seems that korean fashions are all about what everyone else is wearing, regardless if you look like a total dork.
so what's the next fashion disaster to hit the peninsula?
my vote is this will be the new hot trend. hey, they're fashionable, and they give you western looking eyes! |

Yep a few weeks ago all the female teachers decided to go and buy in bulk and get a discount... I think they got 3 pairs each.... I declined to join them although in the hot weather I am tempted to buy them for teaching...
I also wore them when i was about 7 years old... thats 15 years ago!! Theyre a little slow on the uptake! |

I dunno. They might be comfortable if you're just standing around the class and all, but I suspect they would be pretty bad for you if you had to walk very far.
My girlfriend just learned all about thin straps on shoes. I wound up buying her a new pair and throwing away the ones she had on after we salved and bandaged her feet.
I understand Poly-Girls saying Beauty=Pain.
But please do be careful.
After all, when your feet are black and blue and oozeing fluids, you aren't sexy no matter what shoes you're wearing. |

OK, yeah they're cheap, but comfortable? Gee, I remember them giving me blisters and making my feet stink to high heaven.
Of course, they did leave an interesting pattern of dirt on my feet. |

Do they have larger sizes for men? I've been dared to wear a pair all day Saturday. |
