Try typing www.bogglesworld.com into the browser. I think the problem with the link was a stray comma.

Laughing HA! Yeah sorry it was taking ages to come up so I kept on refreshing it

nah but seriously it is me in this instance. Last night one of my adult students was having going away drinks and the director was having a yarn to him (which he told me about before). He said that the adult student said that in fact yes, my adult classes are also boring and that I look disinterested and tired all the time. Which is true cos that interchange blue book is the bain of my life. And the tired bit is also true (damn Cass!!!!!) So thank god for resources like Daves where I can come and get many different ideas.

So time to try a few different things me thinks

I think Interchange is great. It makes a great basic platform to use for organization of presentation. Just add alternative activities. My students have always liked it.

A couple years ago I ordered "Edutainment" which was developed specifically for teaching Japanese students, but it's also suitable for Korean students of all ages. The best part is their cassette tape of "oldie" hit songs by the original artists, and there are song "cloze" listening exercises for all the songs. I usually just use them to fill out the last 15 minutes- or so of a class to finish on a nice note. Actually, you can just get your own music tapes or CD's of songs with catchy tunes that are sung clearly in decent English, and you can get the lyrics off the Internet and systematically delete the words you want them to listen for and learn. "Bus Stop" by the Hollies, "Daydream Believer" by the Monkees, "Yesterday" and "Let It Be" by the Beatles, "House of the Rising Sun" by the Animals" and a couple songs by the Carpenters, including "Rainy Days and Mondays" are among the songs on the Edutainment cassette that students seem to love. At my high school I sometimes follow up the cassette listening exercise by showing DVDs of the original groups singing the same songs with English subtitles and even the sleepiest students wake up and are attracted. The Carpenters' DVD, "Close to You" is especially effective because of it's emotional appeal and vocal clarity. Paul McCartney's U.S.A. Concert tour DVD is also very attractive and features an emotional New York City concert soon after 9/11.
Some Australian EFL teacher markets "Edutainment" - and that's where my package was sent from (I think I paid about $30.00)
I also subscribe to www.handoutsonline . They have a lot of free stuff (like Bogglesworth) but for $18.00 a year you get access to all kinds of interesting stuff to spice up or build lessons around...

Another thing to remember is that not all of the kids, and parents are going to like you. Different strokes for different folks.

Someone is always gonna find you boring, or someone is always gonna say you give to much homework, or someone is always gonna whine about something.

Look seriously if its kids who are whining? Make farting noises... that keeps them in giggles for endless minutes.

For adults? hmm well if Cass is your problem, I suggest sharing with them? Might lighten the old farts up a little.

Adults are a different breed, I strongly suggest bringing articles for them to read and discuss. Nothing like world cup soccer to get the debate running full open. Just make sure you holler at one point that Japan sucks. That way you don't have to pay for the Cass!
