Hmmmm... you are getting up to 10 torrent connections and then your system starts to crawl hey? I would say that it may be worthwhile for you to look into getting a 4226 patch. That is hack your TCP/IP settings to allow more connections which XP SP2 turned off. Google it or follow one of the following links:
For information on it
Unfortunately for you, the main patcher for this issue (www.LVLlord.de), has recently experienced a server crash and therefore the download for his newest EXE version which is uninstallable has gone with the availability of his page. I have already put 20 minutes into panning different sites for the download but I figure that you can do just as well. |
thanks for your effort..
so have you used this patch?
how well does it work? |
If you can find the EXE installer, it is well worth it. I used it earlier in the year before my last reinstall and it worked well. It will essentially allow you to designate how many connections you are willing to let your computer make (SP2 only allows you 10 wimpy connections), up to 999, if I recall correctly. Be careful with ay of the registry patches in te ZIP versions as they have potential to screw up your computer. At any rate, make a restore point and backup your registry before you do anything. |
