Quote:

SINGAPORE (Reuters) -- Baseball and softball will not feature in the 2012 London Olympics after they were wiped from the program in a controversial vote Friday.

Quote:

Baseball and softball's ejection opens the door for two of golf, squash, karate, rugby sevens and roller sports to be added.

The IOC's Executive Board will propose two from the five and members will vote on their inclusion on Saturday.

So with baseball offically scratched from the 2012 Olypmpics, which sport do you think should replace it?

Well, baseball is my favorite sport to watch, but I imagine it is a snooze to most of the world: like cricket to North Americans. Rugby is big enough. Why not include it?

Definantly Rugby...

It is becoming a truly international game and should be given a shot...

Besides, new Zealand has to win a gold medal in something

doesn't golf have their "olympics" every week? the best players from around the world play in the LPGA and PGA.

not golf. it's just not enough of a sport. if you put in golf you'd open the door for darts and pool and stuff like that. i say rugby for sure.

and, yeah, i would get rid of the all the riflery and archery in the olympics. in fact, i'd probably get rid of 25% of the dopey sports they put in that thing.

btw does anybody have memories from when they were a kid and they watched the olympics in seoul and saw the korean flag for the first time and thought, "man, what a crazy flag" or is that just me?

Squash could be a contender, it satisfies the athletics requirement and is played by many around the world.

But I went for rugger. A great amateur sport.
