America has not been spared. There are many things they could have done thus far - but they haven't. Why? I believe that they are waiting for an opportunity to finish what they started on 9/11. Think back - they failed on the WTC in 1993 but came back later - these are determined fruitcakes. I think they will try for the White House - the big one - which they missed - rather than do mediocre stuff. Let's face it though - it would be pretty easy to cause a lot of damage - look what one stupid sniper (OK, two) did a couple of years back - sheer terror.

Also consider - they are killing Americans everyday in Iraq - no need to go to the USA. This could be the fruitcake recruitment phase ...

Stop being an idiot. At least my reading comprehension seems far better than yours. Or are you just being disingenuos. Don't some Americans know what the word 'agenda' actually means? This I find a little unbelievabel so you must be trolling.

Most, if not all, Americans know the dictionary definition of the word agenda, and we do use it often in this way: "I'm sorry. Your project is not on the agenda this week." Americans are no strangers to this use of the word.

However, that does not preclude its use as a loaded word. Your inability or refusal to believe that does not alter the fact.

I believe the phrase is 'QUIT while you're behind'.

Or is there a new one I don't know about?

Bin laden's lieutenants had a semi-coherent international network of trained terrorists cells at their disposal on 9/11. Today, al-Qaeda is little more than a fanatical ideology. Its terrorists cells operate in an isolated, independent manner. The London attacks were probably years in planning and preparation. Unfortunately it's difficult for an organization like MI-5 to locate and penetrate small, insular terrorist cells.

Ummmmm, Mr. C, you are supposed to eat your oatmeal with a spoon, not mainline it. It's clogging up your synapses.

Maybe the best solution is if you just skip my posts and spare yourself the anguish. Either my writing style or your reading comprehension is lacking. I choose to believe one and you choose to believe the other. Fair enough.

And you're American? I never guessed that.

Tell me you didn't mean "ulterior motive" when you wrote "political agenda". You can't.

Rather than clarify or own up, you chose to go the personal attack route.

Of course I meant 'ulterior motive'. What's to own up to or clarify? It looks to me like you are getting two posters confused. Hmmm...I'll think it but I won't say it.

That wasn't a personal attack. It was common sense health advice. Brains simply do not work well when clogged up with oatmeal.

Then explain this:

Nothing wrong with your writing style. And I read you correctly between the lines. What did I fail to comprehend?

The USA's time is coming. I have no doubt about that...they've made a lot of enemies in the Muslim world.

Yup, just a matter of when.

In the meantime, thousands of Muslims are dying... killing each other left and right.

Doesn't that bother you that so many members of the religion of peace are killing each other?

Sadly, the Muslim world is one which never has, and never will be mature enough to join together as one, with a common purpose. The only common purpose they seem able to join in is causing the death of all those around them. Around the world, this theme rings true. Few Muslim nations are at peace with their neighbors.

Muslim countries that are at peace with their neighbors:

Morocco
Tunisia
Algeria
Mali
Mauratania
Libya
Egypt
Jordan
Sudan (its problems are w/in the country)
The Maldives
Bangladesh
Every one of the "stans" including Afghanistan
Indonesia
Malaysia
Iran
Turkey
IRAQ
Syria
Lebanon
Bosnia
Saudi
Yemen
Oman
Djibouti
etc etc

Crap, the only muslim country not at peace with its neighbor is debatably Pakistan. I say debatable simply because they do recognize each other and they're not at war with one another. Due to the Kashmir dispute, however, I'll keep it off the list.

So wow, one country. Rolling Eyes

Thousands of Muslims are killing each other? Left and right? Where?? Iraq? Eh, yeah, maybe 10,000 have died in Iraq, but many of them from Americans. where else? Sudan? While darfur is disgusting, the victims are not muslim. Or do you mean muslims are just killing people in general? That would have slightly more validity to it.

Edit: Syria is still in dispute over the Golan with Israel. So ok, add another.

How do you define peace?
Indonesia & PNG are not at what I'd define peace over Irian Jaya. Bosnia is not at peace with the Serbs.
Granted it may or may not have anything to do with Islam, but you put those places out there.
BTW isn't the official name Bosnia/Herzegovina ?

You're right it is. I couldn't think of the second part to the name, just remembered it started with an "H."

And what makes you say that Serbia still wants to keep it? The Serbian gov't has handed over war criminals and seems to have moved on from that conflict.

Everyone is missing the point , Al Qaida given a choice would have rather hit the US than the UK.

The US will probably get hit again but stuff like the Patriot act has made Americans safer.

Americans would be even safer (by no means perfect ) with a national ID card.

The Patriot act - it works , not perfectly but it helps.

Interesting.

In what specific way do you think that the patriot act has made USA safer?

And most importantly, how would ID cards prevent a recurrence of WTC?

Edit: and where did the London explosions thread go?

Lets the FBI and the CIA talk to each other.

Allows the US more freedom with wire taps and searches

It allows the US more freedom to use evidence .

Basically it lets the US use same powers against terrorists that it already has against organzied crime.

It seems to be working.

Natl ID card would help the US keep a better account of who is in the US and what they are doing. It would also make it harder from terrorists to use false identities.

The Patriot act and National ID cards put up more obstacles for terrorists to overcome.
