Hi,
I know most of you guys do your visa runs in Japan but a mate of mine is changing jobs and would like to do his visa run in Vladivostok. So any advice or experiences from those who have done this would be much appriecated.
Cheers fellas. |

He'll have to get a Russian tourist visa well in advance which means he'll have to get an official "letter of invitation" from someone in Vladivostok - a hotel or tour company - that has the stamp to provide it. A hotel will probably be a lot cheaper than a travel agency - be sure that the time period requested to visit is a bit longer than he actually intends to stay, as this gives you a bit of a time buffer for when you have to be out of the country.
Of course, I write all this assuming there's a Korean consulate in Vladivostok. If there isn't, there's always the trans-Siberian express to Moscow. |

My wife travels there throughout the year and always complains about the high prices and poor condition of the place.
Good luck |
