I am currently teaching a summer class to university students. My school has asked me to take them on some English language excursions.
I can't think of much to do with them. On Friday, we are going to go see an English language movie, and we will also visit the Da Vinci exhibit. After we finish that we are going to roll over to a famous district where foreigners meet. (Don't worry we won't disturb waygooks. Many of my students have never seen foreigners in the wild before, so they are just going to watch.)
Does anyone have any good ideas for what I can do with them?
My budget is 1M won. The activities need to be related to the English language in order for my upperlings to approve my spending plan. |

A scavenger Hunt in Itaewon. Give them a certain amount of money and a shopping list in English and away they go. End it at a bar somewhere. Maybe even use a subway map only in English.
Good luck |

Cover me!
Flanking maneover!
Covering fire!
Check your fire!
Damn that stung!
HEY I"M ON YOUR SIDE!

That pretty funny.
Which school are you at now, Hammer?
Still studying LING?
Musuems and art galleries?
Are there any musuems are art galleries that you could take them to?
Newspaper or Magazine Companies?
What about calling up the local English newspaper and organizing a tour for your students? In Japan we had the Japan Times Yomuri Shinbun and in Taiwan we have the China Post and Taipei Times. I've had colleagues organize field trips with their university classes.
Bookstores?
Take your class on a tour of a really good bookstore and show them where they can access English books and magazines, etc.
Embassies - Canada, Australia, U.K, U.S.
Any of these places may have activities or suggestions for activities during the summer months. |
