Wow, almost tried to get in on this. Too late now though, given I'm male and will probably have to go to Tokyo instead.
If you PM FreeWorld or Skimilk they are planning a trip to Beijing around the end of July. I was thinking about going but something came up. Looks like a great city to see.

Cheers for the tip - I've got to go for two interviews in Tokyo soon, though if I can do them in a single trip I might have enough money/time left to do that as well.

Otherwise, it'll be autumn for me at the earliest (again, assuming I'm still here).

Still don't know what Cheetos are though..

No prob.
Cheetos are a cheesy, crunchy chip and the mascot is Chester the Cheetah. Tony the Tiger is the mascot for Frosted Flakes cereal.

I have a break for the first three days of August (giving me a five day weekend), and I would like to see China while I'm still on this side of the Pacific. Particularly, I want to go to Beijing.

So, I'm looking for a travel buddy - someone to share a two person tour package with me. This one looks great: http://tour-beijing.com/btour/. It's four days, so I could book either Sat 07/30 to Tues 08/02, or Sun 08/31 to Wed 08/03.

If you have the same days off from work, and you're interested in making a new friend, please consider being my travel buddy!

I do! I have one week of vacation: from 07/30 to 08/07. That seems like a great deal. I was gonna go to Jeju but my travel buddy is heeming and humming about it now. So I'm game to go to Beijing. Too bad one or two guys ruin the rep of all guys with you! But it's probably the safest thing for you to do. There are jerks and freaks among foreigners, based on posting patterns, though I seem to only meet nice guys.

I really want to see more of Asia than Seoul and its suburbs! Rolling Eyes

Then come down to Geoje island sometime. My director's aunt runs a hotel and sometimes lets people stay free if I give her some notice. And I always treat guests to dinner.

The offer goes as always to everyone, or as my kindy kids mock in a stilted deep voice: "ev-er-y-bo-dy"

Personalities online and personalities in real life really have little correlation whatsoever.... If that were the case you'd see shouting matches every time regulars from any forum on the internets got together.

If guys see Cheetos, that is all they are going to talk about - it is just human nature. If you don't like the comments about your Cheetos, you might not have posted them on a message board......

By the way, nice Cheetos - I couldn't resist Embarassed

can we still say "nice cheetos" nowadays? i thought we were supposed to call them 'personalities' or 'african americans' or something.

I am absolutely gutted!

My holidays are 28-31 July, but I cant afford to take any extra days because my parents will be visiting in a few months and I will be using them all then!!

I am a 22yr gal also and I would have loved to go to China...! Argh, just my luck! However, if you dont end up going to China this time round, Im planning on going to China at the end of my contract (although that isn't until next year!).

Yes.

Corporal, there's 2 parts of Hamlet I very much like-although it's not my favourite of Big Bill's plays.

Number One-the character of Ophelia

Number Two-just like Homer said, how moviemakers took Hamlet and remade it into _Ghostbusters_.

Hey Crazyophelia
I have been reading your posts and am in a very similar position where I want to go to China and other countries and am looking for a travel partner too, as you need two people for most of the tours. Unfortunately our dates don't coincide. I am off from Aug 4 until Aug 29.. Anyway sounds like you got some legit responses from the board so hope that something worked out for you. I am planning to do some more travelling while I am here so if you are looking for a travelling buddy again let me know.

I am a Canadian female and have been here for 3 months living about 2 hours from Seoul.

All the best

Just wanted to let everyone know that I found a travel buddy. Since we waited so long though, we unfortunately couldn't get a trip to anywhere on the mainland. So, we're heading to Kyusu, the southern tip of Japan, on Saturday. Should be some decent sightseeing and shopping! Thanks for all your responses!
