This sucks,

First off my comp kept crashing, the monitor would randomly shut down or the blue screen of death.

THEN it crashed and did a windows recovery now those problems are gone. But I now have problems with the following:

1. MSN messenger won't log in at all...... (80072efd error)
2. Links to blogspots and similar don't work
3. Its impossible to log into Hotmail, it just seems to time out?

Can anyone help?

Sounds like an ISP routing problem. Try to flush your dns or recycle your modem. If that doesn't work, call your ISP and ask them if they're having networking problems. It'll probably be resolved in a day or two if that's the case.

The dns flush or modem recycle can be accomplished by typing one of the following into the "run" box (press the windows button and "R" at the same time to pop it up):

1)ipconfig /flushdns
2)ipconfig /renew

Another alternative is to use a proxy to connect to a part of the internet that can still access the sites that you want. This is assuming that the proxy is connectable to the part of the internet that you're still connected to. You can try unipeak.com or proxify.com, or another such service.

You could also try using system restore. Go back to the last restore point and see if everything works then.

Depending on a number of facts about the crashes, there could be some HDD corruption. Crashes and hard boots can cause problems with data, and if your system kept (keeps) going down like that, there could be a number of problems.

Do a "chkdsk/r" and see what it comes up with.

Well its home time now so I'll leave it till tomorrow.
I don't think its the internet cause its a school hub and works fine everywhere else.

If I DONT fix it i think I can get a new pc for my desk, then I can play EVE online ALL DAY
