yeah, i was planning on doing the ol PIN switcheroonie if he tried to swindle me outta pay but he didn't. was mulling doing it anyway cos i think their nastiness took about 5 years off my life.

god it was so frustrating, thinking that because he was such a dodgy mofo and that he was so clearly violating the terms of my contract i could quit without too many problems, but i got so little help from the MOL and immigration to get my letter of release. i

by the by, you know the 2 bank account thing that they do is totally illegal...

Any other victims out there? Don't be shy.

I was just thinking about those stupid Monday morning meetings that we had to attend. Nothing of importance was ever discussed. Many meetings were cancelled or postponed without any notice. We'd show up for the meetings, which meant getting there a few hours earlier. Then we'd find out that they were cancelled. I could have watched the football games and/or gotten a couple of more hours of sleep.

What a place!

let it go pegpig, bastard blubberass isn't worth it. i mean put yourself in his little shiny black ajossi shoes that belie the insignificant proportions of his member and living his little bitter life...it must hurt deep inside when even cute little puppies run away from you and you make babies cry cos they sense the imminent danger of your evilness.

I never went to the monday meetings and I was never penalized for it. But I think the bigger arze was the recruiter that suckered people in there. I tried to reason with him about the situation, but he just started yelling at first and never answered the calls again.
As far as I knew, they were busted and it had a big write up in the Herald last year.
I worked for them at a school in Bangbae Dong, apparently there was another teacher from another company working there with no qualifications (not even a high school diploma) and they busted her and decided to do an audit of all the foreign teachers in the area (near the express bus terminal). At first, "Hamlegs" wanted to give all the teachers the week off until everything was sorted out, but I decided to look for greener pastures. Unfortunately, they left for a week because of the investigation and I had to wait to get back my degree (that was one of the most stressful times in my life...)

This job is not worth any kind of experience..none.
I am now teaching at a college now based on my variety of teaching experiences, not just with these jackarzes.

I think I got a better reputation by not associating with them.
cool....

Funny i should stumble upon this link now....

I got served official court papers on the 18th saying i was found GUILTY of embezzlement and had to pay 2mil in fines to said Blubberass..(of Korea Campus or Hamilton or Oxford English) Went to the court to appeal the decision--i have a courtdate on the 18th of August.

Wish Me Luck!
(Bad part is i might have to see that jerk)

This is for everyone who was ever wronged by him...(Let's hope the court appointed attorney isn't some courtroom rookie)

As for the immigration investigation--they won't release any info to me about it. The stack of papers on their desk was pretty fat though.

The operation is currently called OXFORD English Academy or something like that. It's located just up the street from their old Hamilton Office in Bangbae-Dong.

The pimple that just won't go away.

I went by there a few months ago. I thought that they had shut down the new place also. Apparently not.

It's pricks like this that show what is wrong with Korean immi/labour laws. How can someone who has shafted SOOOOOO MANY employees (Korean & foreigners) continue to keep coming back time and again. He's been arrested and they've had to close up shop on more than one occasion. But, they can continue to reek havoc on the education industry.

How is it possible that they can sue you and not vice versa? Perhaps a deposit grab? Have they gone after others? I wonder if they're being sued by any teachers or anyone else. Lord knows they should be. They've screwed over other companies as well. I can remember that the restaurant that was providing their lunches wasn't getting paid. Then there's also the matter of not paying their numerous recruiters that they were also scamming.

We should really have an "I got screwed by Hamilton" party. Misery loves company, well misery's got more than enough lovin' now.

I hope you can find someone you can trust to go there with you that can speak excellent Korean. I wish you the best of luck in your battle. I get the feeling you'll need it.

I totally know what you mean...this is the lesson about "CONTRACTS" and "FIRST IMPRESSIONS" that won't die...

I tried to call the courts two days ago about my court appointed lawyer...haven't heard anything! I'm sure they throw someone my way a few hours before my case.

I've going out of town for a few weeks, so i wont be in touch with the courts even if they call--and then the week i come back--i've got a hot court date. Youzha!

Yes, let's get some T'shirts "I've been Screwed by Lee Chan Won" Let's get his ugly mug on the shirts too. Anyone want to preorder????

Which court house? If its guii subway station you can ask for Kim Oh, he is public defender and can be found next to the court house through KLAC(3-5 minute walk, 4th floor). Exit 3 and/or 4 out of the subway. You only got 7 days to appeal unless somehow Kim Oh can help you get around that.

Nah...It's the Main Courts at Seocho Stn. I think it houses the Supreme courts for Korea.

I filed my appeal the day after i got the fine in the mail. I requested a free attorney, but still haven't heard back from them on that. Who knows, i might just have to represent myself. (I've been watching a bunch of Law and Order to get myself psyched...)

Know anyone at the main court offices?
