He might win 'least credible ever' but can you think of a US president you could consider truly credible? I'm not sure if I could even give Jefferson that lable.

polk.

Polk made a BS claim about the location of the border between Texas and Mexico, in order to start a war and seize a lot of territory. It may have been good for America, but doesn't count as "squeaky clean" in my book.

Loyal eh?
I gotta tell you, loyalty has nothing to do with politics. No one in politics should be loyal to anything except
1) their word
2) their voting public.
political friends? Sorry dude. Your friends do bad things, your friends faith wrath. You protect your friends from justice they just might deserve, your nothing but a sheister in my books.

Ah, so you recommend using people for your own advantage and backstabbing them, selling them out when you can score political points from doing so. I wonder why Bush is the most powerful man in the world and you... are not...

Probably in like proportion to your desire to steal money from perfect strangers and give it all to your friends. Then to turn a blind eye while your friends kill a bunch of orphans. THEN to watch your friends screw your girlfriend and slap them on the back for a job well done.

In other words...i'm thinking, i don't tHINK that i'd recommend it. Because see, just because someone is your friend, it doesn'y allow them license to be an a-hole, an abuser, a whatever.

I recommend treating your friends with respect, but, there is NOTHING WRONG with putting distance between yourself and BAD people. I have done that all my life and i pride myself in saying that all of my friends are really great people....
and THAT is why i am not the most powerful man in the world.

You've got to have faith in your friends. That means believing their side of the story even if it seems unlikely, giving them the benefit of the doubt and backing them up even if they make a mistake. If your friend commits a horrible crime and needs your help to hide from the cops or sneak out of the country, would you help him? George Bush and I would, thats the difference between us and weasely Canadians like you.

Hmmmm...Loyalty to friends is a wonderful thing, but it has to have limits. I'm thinking of the guy in Idaho who seems to have killed a mom, her boyfriend and an older kid, kidnapped two little kids, killed the boy and sexually abused the 8 year old girl.

I think the case can be made that you would be helping him to turn him in to the cops, to prevent him from acting again. In a sense, protecting him from himself.
