| My boss has recently been busted for not paying into the Korean National Pension. He is now going to start paying into it as are we (the employees at my hagwon). The question I have is whether or not I have to make back payments for the 8 months I've worked here without paying the 4.5%? I'm Canadian so I get it all back (employers contributions as well) and I want to make the back payments. My boss is a cheap person and is very evasive when it comes to this and I am just looking for some clarity as to how I could force my hand on this issue. It affects a number of my fellow employees (13 to be exact) and we are looking for some REAL info. Do I and my boss have to make these back payments? Any other info pertaining to this would be well appreciated. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it as do my co-workers. Thanks |

Yes, you have to backpay.
If your boss is willing, he might let you make it in smaller payments, rather than a huge chunk all at once, but it's up to him.
This happened at our school and you backpay to the date started. |

| Pension back pay - so what? You double your money unless he messes around some more. |
