Yeah, I got a crap bicycle for 25,000 won and ride it to work and back. It's pretty cool. Motorbike's in the shop for a week. Riding a bike reminds me of being a kid. Kind of dangerous, though, because any jerk can decide to run you over and you can't get away. |

Hi
I am thinking of buying a bicycle. I live near Seoul about, 30 mins on the bus, but I think it would be too much to cycle into Seoul and back.
Does anyone know if it is possible to take bicycles on buses here?

I own a bike in Seoul and ride it every day. My life only feels threatened about once a ride, usually when cabs come out of nowhere or pull random 360s in the middle of busy streets. I love riding my bike. It saves a lot on transportation and is generally fun. |

I live in Incheon and use my bike everyday. Just bought a new
bike for about 2,500,000won. A Scott MTN bike. Korea makes
bikes but they are crap.
You have to really careful here while riding. Korean drivers are
unpredictable at best.
I ride to all of my classes. It keeps my fitness level up. |

I've got a bike. I love having it. I generally ride on the sidewalk (not nice, but the scooters do it too.) Most times though, I ride along the Han or down the Dancheon or Yangaecheon. The bike paths are great. |

You can take your bike on the intercity buses for sure. Those are the ones with the storage area underneath. I don't know about taking one into the passenger compartment though. I ride a lot. Maybe 4 or 500 kilometers a week. Super exercise for an old fat guy like me . |

Yeah, I figured as much. There isn't much room inside the local buses.
I guess the only other option would be to leave it in Seoul locked up, but then somebody might pinch the wheels.

I'm lucky. I live in a rural area. I was riding around Daegu this weekend, and for sightseeing, it was fine. But for serious distance riding and pace, it sucked big blue monkey balls. If you spend more than a few hundred bucks on a bike, NEVER store it outside or leave it out at night. I carry my bike 102 steps down and up every day. |
