RIP in Scotty aka James Doohan 1920=2005

Quote:

LOS ANGELES - James Doohan, who played engineer Montgomery Scott, the scrappy Scotsman who repeatedly gave the Starship Enterprise "all she's got" in the original "Star Trek" TV series and motion pictures, died Wednesday. He was 85.

Spock would say that? Noooo, Spock would say... um.... "Highy symmetical"?? Nahh... Well, I'm not sure, but I know he wouldn't say "fascinating".

In a way, yes.

His will states that his ashes are to be shot into space.

All my childhood media figures are dying off now. Marlon Brando, Gargamel, and now Scotty. Does make me feel quiet old.

That, and the fact that I am considered over the hill at 31 here in Korea.

Yeah, that Scotty died was on BBC tv news last night. He sure looked old, like strung together, but that's 85. He must have been the oldest member of the cast when they shot Star Trek?

Jack, you know 31 isn't over the hill. I hope you don't pay too much attention to what you think Koreans think.

When did Marlon Brando die? Of a heart attack? He was so fat. Did you see him in that movie DNA/The Island of Dr. Moreau? Very fat there. The dumpling king. Who cares he can sure act.

Jack: I'm in the same age group as you, a couple years older.

When Jeff Spicoli, Ferris Bueler, or Wayne from Wayne's World die, then I'll feel old. Marlon Brando? He was old before we were even born my man.

He was without a doubt the Man in Apocalypse Now!, one of my all-time favorite flicks.

William Shatner was right and not faking it when talking about hard core Trek fans.

Yes, but you have to admit that Hunter S. Thompson's idea for his ashes is cooler, plus he had the foresight to die first.

Looks like Depp and family and friends are fudging his last wishes a bit- it's supposed to be a 150' cannon (none exist now, and one might very well be able to blast ashes into space with one) and NOT a cannon on a 150' tower.
For shame!
