I'm not sure if anyone else noticed but I was going through Sadang today and noticed some beams that were not there before.

It really looked like they were installing some type of fence or gate system along the platform.

Anybody know for sure?

My initial thought was that it was a system in response to London. But that was because I was grasping for any connections.

Singapore and Taipei have glass barriers between the platform and the tracks, maybe they are building something like that.

Suicide prevention--many stations in Tokyo have those gates.

Yes. I saw a program on SBS that actually showed the CCTV footage. They always wait at the entrance, where the train is coming at the fastest. The tricky thing is, a lot of them don't do it right and it takes awhile for them to die, or they get amputated in the process.
