Just wondering now if it is neccessary to have an international phonecard from home or can they be bought for less in Korea? I know in some places phonecards are more expensive. Any advice?

I'm from the states, by the way, and they're not exactly cheap here either.

you can get a 7 hr card here for 15k won for america, many different kinds, the "flower" card is the best deal i have found so far, but there are so many, there may be even better deals out there. Itaewon has many places, and some kiosks near the dongdaemun stadium...........Im sure there are many, many other places that have them, but those are the main places in seoul that come to mind now. (Assuming you live near Seoul.)

I'd say probably avoid Itaewon. Everytime I've bought one there I've gotten the 2 hours for 10k variety. Maybe I don't know where to look.

I have a Dahn card. Probably similar to the prior poster's. I got around 6 hours or so to Canada, and Americans always get a better rate on their cards.

Thanks!

Are these cards fairly easy to use... meaning do they actually work for long periods of time instead of cutting off for no apparant reason and do they have instructions in English?

I won't be in Seoul... I'll be in Wonju. Close, I guess...

Yes, they have English. When I've called home during a holiday when everyone's there I've gone for an hour or so. I'v never had connection problems. I'm in Seoul tho. Wonju, I can't say. Probably no big difference.
