I worked at Guri Wonderland 2 years ago.

I ran away after a 8 months. It was bad bad bad!

It might have changed hands since then. But if it hasn't....just say no!

Why would anyone take a risk on this franchise given everything that's known about it? Unless you can get excellent, confidential references from at least several FTs working there, move along. If you reject them, tell them it's because their franchise has such an abysmal reputation amongst foreign teachers.

Well, now you can hear something good about Wonderland. I love my school. The director is great, and the staff is excellent.

For the millionth time...ALL WONDERLANDS ARE NOT BAD!!!!! No chain is inherently evil (except Wal-Mart) and you have to look at the individual schools themselves to see how good they are. Some will be good. Some will be bad. Just like every other Hagwon out there.

I worked in Guri 4-5 years ago, but not at Wonderland. I heard from a few guys that worked there at the time that it wasn't too good. I'd pass on it unless you could talk to people working there now and things have substantially changed.

Just ask the hagwon Wan-jang to be put in contact with a current teacher. If he says no, or stalls, you've got your answer.

My bud did a runner from Guri Wonderland a few years ago, hated the boss and his supervisor. Not to mention, Guri is not a great place to live. Off the subway, expensive and difficult to get to, crowded and dark.

But from every indication one can gather, most will be bad. I just hope the OP explains what a dreadful reputation they have should he turn them down.
