rank each professional sports league from best...

click here to rank the sports--> http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/listranker?id=312

considering the American nature of ESPN, i'm surprised to read the NHL right now coming in 3rd overall.

my picks:

1- NFL

2- NHL

3- MLB

4- Boxing

5- NBA

my picks:

1 - NHL
2 - WHL
3 - Czech Extraliga
4 - Russian Elite League
5 - OHL
6 - QMJHL
7 - SM-Liiga
8 - AHL
9 - Swedish Elite league
10 - ECHL

98- NFL
99 -NBA

And I rank about twentieth the Asian Hockey league, which at least brings some hockey and the sight of Esa Tikkanen to Korea. And now a team from Sweden!

Quote:
The Nordic Vikings will play in Asia League Ice Hockey.

The Nordic Vikings Group, a financial and event company based in Sweden with a dream to have a NHL team based in the Nordic region has started a new team that will play in the Asian League in the upcoming season. The team will be called the Nordic Vikings and will based in Beijing, China and will mainly consist of young Nordic players plus a few Nordic veterans and some Chinese players.

The Nordic Vikings will also help the other two Chinese teams in the league, Harbin and Qiqihar. The Nordic Vikings will provide those teams with some Nordic players in exchange for some Chinese players.

The league is accepting this special arrangement to make the league more competitive and excepts it to improve the level the ice hockey in the Asian region.

The league will have 9 teams next season. Russian side Golden Amur has left the league and besides Nordic Vikings there as a new team from Korea, Kangwon Land. The league now consists of four Japanese, three Chinese and two Korean teams.

The Swedish born Japanese international Shin Yahata Larsson will be general manager of the Nordic Vikings and according to their homepage three player has signed to play for the team. The two Swedes Fredrik N?vall and Erik Zachrisson and the Finn Riku Varjamo.

Interesting concept having a team of Nordic players, mostly Swedes and Finns probably, represent "Nordic" countries but be based in China.

That beats MLB in my book, by a country mile!

But I'm a hockey fan, not generally a sports fan.

as an american sports fan:

my picks:

1. NFL
2. Soccer
3. NBA
4. MLB
5. College BB
6. College Football
7. NHL
1000000. Auto racing

hockey to me is basically...if it's on TV...i'll watch it. yeah, i like the flyers (but i love all philly teams) but it's no skin of my back when they lose. but when my eagles, phils, and sixers lose....i get pissed. i put soccer 2nd (most guys would have that like 6 or 7 in the USA).

1. NHL
2. NFL (I had a tough choice for 1&2. Patriotism I guess won out.
3. MLB
4. Golf

From the list I picked tennis for #5 only because they needed a minimum of 5, even tho none of the rest were worthy in my books.

I tried to watch an NBA playoff game last year and the last couple of minutes just dragged on mercilessly. I think I'd sooner watch an exhibition match of ajumma bowling.

As an American...

1. Auto Racing (not NASCRAP, road racing)
2. MLB
3. Football (EPL, MLS, etc.)
4. NHL
5. Tennis
6. Golf
7. Action Sports
8. Softball
9. NFL, NBA, College "FB", College BB, whatever. These are all a waste of time and money in my opinion.

the various boards on sportsnation don't get traffic unless their sports are in-season or pre-season. thus, the nba board won't have as much traffic now as it would have 3-4 months ago, so you won't have the proper amount of people voting for nba.

baseball is in-season, the new nfl season is about to get underway, and the nhl board is getting high traffic now since the league is back. alot of people around to vote for those leagues.

you should have seen the nhl board for the last few months. dead.
