OK,
I have never blacklisted a school in the 3+ years I have been here but this one is currently looking for 2 teachers and if you get an offer DON'T work here!!!

Here is the laydown....

This school opened 11 months ago and has been struggling since the get go...

They hired 2 new foreign teachers at the start, when the rolled up they required them to work 10 hours Saturdays for 6 months (without overtime) and make the whole cirriuculum for all the classes (which wasn't part of their contract at all) which I don't know why they did because they are nice people...still these saturdays are mandatory

Anyway fast foward to the 11 month mark of their contract...
One of them(the girl) is teaching in class when the cops roll up to the hagwon. She is under arrest for stealing another teachers goods which were found by that teacher in the foreigners bag(why the frig were they looking in he bag to start with??).

-I can assure you this girl isn't a thief, it was planted in there by the head Korean tacher(who is a foreigner-hating bigot) who wanted to set her up for theft and wanted to see them in jail or out of the country...

Obviously she is shocked because she was in class teaching so she has no idea what is happening, so the are given to options, go to jail or get out of the country in 4 days(which one do you think they took??). immigration roll up and give them their marching orders so they actually finish teaching the rest of the day and leave....

Surprisingly (and after a call from the labour board) they did get a pro-rata 11/12 severance pay and have left with a very negative experience of Korea......

These two people were nice, normal people just trying to save money for study in Australia who didn't deserve this kind of treatment..they were treated like crap all contract

So as I said they are looking for two teachers right now....some good advice would be steer right clear of this place SLP(Slave Labor Program) Changwon as the foreigner hating bigot head teacher is still there and I am sure it would be an unpleasant year(if you made it that long)...

Wow I think that perhaps the worst hagwon screw over I have heard of.

And to say some Koreans don't hate foreigners, or at least have ambivalent feelings towards us Exclamation

Nice to see that the hagwon didn't get away with not having to pay severence!

Yeah, SLP gets a pretty bad rep.
