Me too but don't hold your breath.
It'll get reduced to manslaughter, and he'll get a heavier sentence for carrying an offensive weapon than the killing.

The wonder of the UK justice system. Actually a very good system, if you're a criminal Sad

Terrible attack- but why is it racist?

It was a case of british people attacking another Briton. why is anything that happens to a black person racist? If they don't land a job, get thrown out of a bar or get run over, everyone cries racism.

if a gang of blacks attack a white guy its merely seen as random street violence, a different motive is sought. in fact there is no law protecting a white person from racism in Britain.

If you read the article it says he was 'subjected to a torrent of racist abuse' on a bus before being followed and then murdered.

And if you hit someone in the head with an axe, that isn't manslaughter.

While I agree that the UK is far to PC towards ethnic minorities, this attack was clearly racially motivated. Raed the article again.

This is clearly a vicious attacks, although it once again shows the media's bias in reporting racial attacks. White on black attacks make national news, attacks on whites barely register.

Sure, that's in line with the old newsroom maxim, "Dog bites man -- not news. Man bites dog -- news!"

I read the figures somewhere- there are more assaults on whites by blacks in Britain than vice versa.

I remember that a black guy in london said to me once "why do they always paint us as the victims?
meaning: "we can beat the c*ap out of white dudes any day of the week, yet the media always portrays us as weaker."

You are preaching to the converted here. The BNP website often carries stories of whites who are murdered by blacks and Asians (they even had a story about a muslim gang which was subjecting white school children to sexual assault which would never get reported by papers like the Guardian) . The site is worth a look. The brutality of the attack against the black person in Liverpool led me to post it, but I certainly believe that black on white crimes are underreported in the UK.

Does anyone else think that violent crime in Britain is totally out of control? A friend that got back from London told me the streets are controlled by hoodlums. This was a country considered safe enough that police didnt even carry firearms.

I went in December, and on Friday and Saturday nights the streets are characterised by a huge police presence. If you so much as look at someone the wrong way a fight can break out. I don't miss England very much at all except for the beautiful countryside, and a few close friends. Your assertion that English streets are controlled by hoodlums is very accurate.

As someone already reported, a guy was stabbed to death merely for telling some thug to stop throwing food at people on the bus. Why challenge bad behaviour when you might get killed?

There is a large section of society in the UK that has no respect for the law, other people or prevailing social norms.

An unusally large proportion of those who don't respect the law are from the ethnic minorities.

That's something great about Korea. If someone gets out of line, there's an old guy who will tell them to behave. Hence, the almost total lack of street crime. In the UK, adults are scared of kids, and with good reason.
