my wife (korea) is areally big into swimming, and is thinking about going for life guard training in korea. In a few years we are hoping to move to canda and she is wondering if her life guard credentials would work in canada. anyone with any knowledge on the subject.

Lifeguarding in Canada requires certification.
Not sure who does it but minimum certification is a Bronze medalion + CPR course(also certified)

Usually requires your NLS National Lifeguarding Service. Inquire at any pool in Canada that has a lifeguard! Not sure if they are transferrable though if you get certified here. Try to Google National Lifeguard Service.

The above poster is right. It used to be bronze medalian, now one must also take bronze cross, leaders, instructors and NLS certification to be a qualified lifeguard and/or instructor. Of course she should also get certified in first aid and CPR.

I'm not sure how legit lifeguarding is in Korea.. have you seen the lifeguards?????

You might want to call a local pool and ask to talk to a lifeguard there. They might have some info you can use.
